1. Regular attendance in Tuesday sessions.
2. Reading of mandatory texts and active participation in discussions.
3. 9 short protocols*
4. At the end of the semester: written essay (5-6 pages). Deadline: Jan 31 2018.

*At the end of each session, we will stop 10 minutes earlier to give everybody time to write a short protocol. The protocol should summarize the central points of the session, and raise at least one follow-up question. Every participant must hand in 10 short protocols (of 13 possible). Protocols may be hand-written, or electronically sent to bschir@phil.gess.ethz.ch at the end of the session.
